Guide : How to Update to Android 2.3.5 new Gingerbread

Gadget Blog - Few days ago the official update of Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread has roll out to several devices. This latest Android update has made some developers work hard to port it to other Android devices. The Samsung Galaxy S II apparently is one of the devices that have not received the update yet. But, no worry Android 2.3.5 based ROM AOSP GRJ90 for Samsung Galaxy S II has just been released by AdamG, the man behind minimal and rock stable Oxygen ROMs.




Now as the AOSP GRJ90 Android 2.3.5 based ROM has rolled out, Samsung Galaxy S user should be excited to try out this ROM, but before you install this ROM to your Galaxy S II you should check out the main features of this ROM below:

* SU
* Linux Kernel 2.6.35.1
* Android 2.3.5 GRJ90
* SIP calling over 3G
* Battery Percentage [Optional]
* Facebook Contacts Sync
* Auto Backlight Mod Enabled
* Ability To Download Any File Type
* Enhanced And Optimized Widget Picker

Now that you already know a bit about the Devnull Test ROM-based custom ROM and what t does to your Galaxy S II device, then now let’s continue to the installation procedure. However, you need to remember that this instruction is dedicated for Samsung Galaxy S II only and before you start you have to make sure that you Galaxy S II device should be rooted and running ClockworkMod Recovery.

The last thing before we start, we need to remind you that we are not responsible if your device gets damaged by following the process, so install this custom ROM at your own risk.

1. To begin, you need to download the ROM and save it on you phone’s SD Card or SD Ext.
2. After that, reboot your phone in ClockworkMod Recovery via button combination or ROM Manager.
3. Once you are in CWM Recovery, make a NANDROID backup of your current ROM.
4. Now use volume keys and home button to format /data and /system. The option to format / System and / Data are located in mounts and storage menu of CWM Recovery.
5. After you are done with the step above, go to Install Zip from SD Card and select to flash the ROM zip file you earlier copied to SD Card root.
6. After the installation is complete, reboot your device.
7. Lastly, Once first reboot, again reboot your device and you are all set to enjoy the awesomeness of AOSP 2.3.5 GB on your phone.
